Iconic TT-02 Chassis Kit with Performance-Focused Updates
The Tamiya TT-02 Type-S 1/10 4WD Electric On-Road Touring Car Chassis Kit is an updated evolution of Tamiya’s popular shaft-driven 4WD touring platform, built for drivers who want greater tuning range and sharper on-road performance. This version incorporates redesigned components that expand adjustability while maintaining the TT-02’s approachable, efficient layout. The Type-S features upgraded suspension geometry, reinforced mounting hardware, and precision drivetrain parts, resulting in a chassis that feels more responsive, more capable, and more adaptable.
About the TT-02 Type-S Chassis Kit
Enhanced Suspension Geometry
Long reversible suspension arms pair with rigid metal suspension mounts to deliver a wider tuning window and improved stability. The rear features a built-in 3° toe-in setup for confident cornering, while turnbuckle upper arms allow quick camber adjustments without disassembly. This suspension layout gives drivers the ability to fine-tune handling balance for different track conditions. The geometry also helps the chassis maintain consistent grip during high-speed direction changes.
Upgraded Damping & Chassis Rigidity
CVA oil dampers are mounted to specially designed three-millimeter FRP damper stays that optimize shock angle and rebound stroke. This combination increases road holding and helps the chassis stay composed during high-speed transitions. The thicker FRP stays add rigidity to the suspension mounting points, reducing flex under load. Together, these components create a more responsive feel that benefits both beginners and experienced racers.
Drivetrain & Precision Hardware
Full ball bearings, metal cup joints, and metal drive shafts work together to reduce power loss and improve durability. Die-cast aluminum hex hubs and metal wheel axles further enhance reliability under racing loads. These drivetrain upgrades ensure smooth, consistent power delivery from the included 540 Brushed Torque Tuned motor. The reinforced hardware also supports long-term performance, even when paired with future hop-ups or stronger motors.
