Description

A gimbal assembly comprising: an outer gimbal having a longitudinal axis; an inner gimbal pivotally supported by the outer gimbal and coaxial with it; a motor mounted on the inner gimbal, the motor having associated motor leads; a pivot unit that pivotally connects one end of the inner gimbal to the outer gimbal along the shared axis; and a slip ring unit that pivotally connects the other end of the inner gimbal to the outer gimbal along the same axis, the slip ring unit being electrically connected to the motor leads.
